building a compassionate world, one story at a time

The Muse:
As you get older you spend more time considering what your footprint on the world is, and how, if at all, it has it made the world a better place. From there you consider what else you can do to give emphasis to the things that matter.

Ergo the development of The Compassionate Press. It could be big, it could be small, it could impact on one person or more, but what is certain is that it won’t impact on anyone if we don’t try.

Hi, We are Lisa and Andrew Cockington. The Compassionate Press is our endeavor to encourage a conversation, challenge thinking and spark ideas as our contribution to a more compassionate, equitable word, and to help others to see how it can be done from within our every day lives. We hope to create a forum where others share their insights and encourage thoughtful discussion. We are committed to the concepts of story telling, as powerful way to share knowledge that is memorable, and able to be passed from person to person, creating a ripple effect and hopefully tidal change.

Our backgrounds are in health and community services, with 30 years experience in driving change to improve the health and wellbeing of our communities. We now want to take the skills and knowledge we have gained and apply it to making a difference on a different level, and in a different way. When we are not working by day or being passionate entrepreneurs by night, we enjoy a myriad of activities: sport, exercise, art (not Andrew!), coffee (lots for Andrew), wine & food surrounded by our beautiful 3 daughters, family and friends.

Our strong belief is that compassion is at the heart of a healthier, happier, and safer world for everyone.

Enjoy the thoughts and conversation.

Our Story-100

ahh  - well - we're new around here, and we don't have any comments yet.... *sighs, looks wistfully around the room*

It would be great if you could provide us with some!  There's a spot just below - feel free to tap away about your experience of this website!
